Announcement: Learning the Domino AppDev Pack - a FREE Course from C3UG
Your friends at C3UG have prepared a video training course to show how to get started with the Domino AppDev Pack. We have recorded over 5 hours of content segmented into over 50 videos.
The course includes both development and administration sections. The administrative sections begin with installing a basic instance of Domino that you can run in a local virtual machine. From there we get into the settings necessary to run the AppDev pack, and then move on to installing and configuring the AppDev pack itself.
We then switch to development mode and write a small sample javascript application that shows how to read and write data against a demo database on the Domino server. Note that at this point we haven’t applied any database security, so the next section of the course shows how to configure the security settings to protect your Domino data. We update the sample app to take advantage of the security settings.
The final section of the course shows how to configure the Identity Access Management app that is included with the AppDev Pack, which gives you the ability to create external javascript applications that take advantage of regular user level security in database app access control lists.
The course is available on Google Classroom. Did we mention that it is free? All you need is an account that is able to access Google services (not necessarily a Gmail account) and search for the course code ‘feilrb4‘.
